The 2021 Red Mountain 55k, 30k, and Dirty Hurty Half Marathon trail races course incorporate the scenic dirt trails of the Santa Clara Reserve located in the west central portion of Washington County, directly southwest of the communities of Ivins and Santa Clara and east of the Shivwits Indian Reservation. The race course starts on Gate’s Lane Bridge across for the historic Jacob Hamblin home and quickly turns onto a BLM service road and climbs up to the single track tails in the Santa Clara Reserve. The course winds in clover fashion back into the Cove Wash Trail-head Aid Station 4 times before heading to the finish at Unity Park, Ivins, UT. See course page for more detail.

55k, 30k & Dirty Hurty Half Marathon Races start at 6:30 am.
Cut-off time is 3:30 pm to finish the race with nutritional and medical support provided … that is a total of 9 hours to finish the race.
We will be providing rides to the finish line area for those who have not finished by 2 pm. If you choose to finish after the 9 hour mark, you do so at your own risk. There will not be medical or nutritional support provided.
The races all start in Santa Clara, UT (Bus pick up is at the finish-line at Unity Park in Ivins)
The online race registration closes on March 4th, 2 days prior to the race. Alternatively, you can register by postal mail by downloading race registration form. Also late late registration will be available at packet pick-up Friday, March 5th at the St. George Running Center.
Once you are registered you should receive an email confirmation of your successful registration.
|Packet Pickup:||Packet Pick-up will be at the St. George Running Center from 3pm – 7pm March 5th. Race Morning Pick-up will be at Unity Park from 5:00AM TO 5:30AM. Drop Bags: If you are running the 55k you may bring a drop bag the morning of the race. Please have your DROP BAG clearly labeled with your name and bib! It is your responsibility to mark the bag clearly. We are not responsible for lost drop bags.|

The average high for March 6th in Ivin’s Utah is 68F and the average low is 43F.
|Bus Transportation:||Participants will be bused to the starting line of the 55k, 30k and Dirty Hurty Half Marathon events. All participants please be at the Unity Park in Ivins (finish line) no later than 5:30am. The buses will leave at 5:45 am sharp for the starting line. This will give you 30 minutes for warm-up, hydration, bathrooms, etc. before the race starts.|
Refunds and Transfers:
We allow runners 9 hours of support before the event closes. The course aid station will close at 1:30pm. At 2:30-3:00pm police support will be pulled from the Route 9 road crossing course. Starting at 1:30 pm, rides will be proved back to the finish line from the main aid station.
Because the race course is open for 9 hours, both the 25k and 13.1 Mile distances are open to power hikers who would like to enter the event.

Race course is closed to vehicles during the race. Spectator are welcome and encouraged.
|Aid Stations and Porta-toilets:||
Aid stations will be at the start, finish. Porta-toilets will be available at the start, finish, and at the Cove Wash Trail head aid station. All aid stations will also have sports drink (Skratch Labs Sports Drink), water, Vaseline, Aid stations will be at the start, finish. |Runners Receive:||55k, 30k, Dirty Hurty Half Marathon trail runners receive a short sleeve tech shirt, very nice finishers medal and tired legs.|
Results will be calculated by official clock time and you will be given your results shortly after you finish. Your results will be updated on our website within 24 hours post-race.
Awards will be given to top Male and Female finishers. Also, Certificates good for Shoes. ALL finishers will receive very nice finishers medals.
Those running the 55k will be able to prepare a drop bag for the Cove Wash Trail-head aid station. You will need to bring your drop bag race morning and leave it with us before getting on the bus. On your last pass through the Cove Wash aid station give us your bag to drop in the truck. Drop bags will be back to the finish line area by 10:30, 12:30 & 1:30.
|COVID-19 PLAN:||It’s important to us that we do our best to maintain a social distance during this event. Runners will be required to wear a mask on the bus ride, the starting line , finish line staging areas and in the aid station staging area as well. All volunteers interacting with participants will be wearing masks.
The start will be a rolling start this year and we will have a chip mat at the start. So you are welcome to start the event anytime between 6:30am – 6:45am. This will allow time for people to space out and distance.
